History
The Seattle Garden Club was founded in 1917 by a group of women who shared a love of gardening. SGC became affiliated with The Garden Club of America in 1923, and thus subject to their governance. Although originally focused on regional horticultural enhancements, SGC encourages interest in horticulture, conservation, floral design and photography and continues our long history of supporting community projects.
Membership in the Seattle Garden Club is by invitation only.
Statement of Purpose
To stimulate the knowledge and the love of gardening, to aid in the protection of the quality of the environment, to encourage and assist in civic beautification, and to aid and carry on charitable, scientific and educational activities in all of the said fields.
